Filled with cherished traditions, photo opportunities in front of the newly painted red Myers Hall, and numerous activities, Wittenberg will once again welcome alumni and families back to campus for Homecoming, Reunion, and Family Weekend, Oct. 1-4, 2026.
From reunion celebrations, campus tours, and academic department panels to tailgates and victories, Wittenberg has something for everyone during this annual event. In addition to sports contests and various entertainment options, the University will also recognize its own during the Athletics Hall of Honor and the Alumni Achievement Awards.
Festivities begin on Thursday, Oct. 1, with a special summit on immigration titled 鈥淚mmigration at the Crossroads: Business, Policy, Ethics, and Human Stories.鈥� The event brings together documentary film, student and youth storytelling, immigrant business experiences, faculty perspectives, and community conversation. Presented by Wittenberg鈥檚 newly created School of Business, Policy & Ethics, the event will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. at Bayley Auditorium, part of the Barbara Deer Kuss Science Center.
Following the summit will be the always popular Athletics Hall of Honor dinner and induction ceremony, which will take place at the 1929 Fieldhouse, part of the Health, Wellness & Athletics Complex, beginning at 5 p.m.
Several events will then take place on Friday, Oct. 2. Homecoming information and check-in tables for weekend participants will be available at the Benham-Pence Student Center from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Other highlights of the day include department panels and classroom sessions, reunion tours, the class of 1976 50th reunion gathering from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., the Welcome Back Reception from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in room 105 of the Joseph C. Shouvlin Center for Lifelong Learning, and the Alumni Achievement Awards from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ness Auditorium, part of Hollenbeck Hall. See the Alumni Achievement Awards story by clicking here.
Additionally, a Reunion Late Night for all classes will happen from 8 p.m. to midnight in Founders Pub and Geil Lounge, both part of the Benham-Pence Student Center; a campus bonfire from 9 to 11 p.m. on the corner of Woodlawn and Ward Streets; and a Tour of the Night Sky from 9:30 to 11 p.m. at Weaver Observatory.
On Saturday, Oct. 3, tours will take place of Wittenberg鈥檚 top-tier gross anatomy lab from 10 to 11 a.m. in room 109 of the Science Center. The William A. McClain Center will also be hosting an open house with coffee and donuts from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Another morning option is a little pickleball action from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the David B. and Georgianna S. Albright Tennis Complex.
Alumni and friends can then head over to the Homecoming Weekend anchor event, the Tiger Tailgate. This year鈥檚 Tiger Tailgate will provide a festival-style atmosphere from 10 a.m. up until the Tigers take on Kenyon in football at 2 p.m. at Edwards-Maurer Field. Featuring DJ entertainment, the event offers delicious treats from local food trucks as it connects alumni, students, parents, faculty, and staff.
Please note that East Campus Drive will close at 10 a.m. to pedestrian traffic only for the tailgate. A Coaches Circle tent will also be set up near the tailgate in the HWA lot along Bill Edwards Drive, and the Homecoming court will be announced during halftime festivities of the football game.
Additionally, on Saturday, come celebrate the return of the cherished red color on Myers Hall. Thanks to the tremendous support of the Wittenberg community, the Restore the Red campaign exceeded its goal, and Myers Hall is once again shining its iconic red. The celebration will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 with remarks at 12:45 p.m. at Myers Hall. Special Myers Hall Lego sets will also be on sale and available during Homecoming for $20 to $25.
Several reunion events will also take place on Saturday beginning with a Class of 1966 dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in Ness Auditorium. The Class of 2001 and Friends Party will take place in room 105 of the Shouvlin Center from 5-8 p.m., while the Class of 1976 dinner featuring music and dancing will begin at 6 p.m. at the 1929 Gymnasium. There will also be a Theatre and Dance Homecoming Cabaret at 9 p.m. in Founders Pub followed by some Bingo at the CDR until 11 p.m.
On Sunday, a special vow renewal for alumni couples who found love at Wittenberg will take place at the Kissing Bridge in Commencement Hollow from 9:30 to 10 a.m., with the rain site being Weaver Chapel. Everyone can then enjoy some coffee, donuts, and fellowship, beginning at 10:30 a.m., followed by the chapel service at 11 a.m. A pancake brunch is also being offered in the student center鈥檚 Center Dining Room (CDR) beginning at 11 a.m.
Other weekend activities include golf outings, special tours and lunches, guest speakers, alumni sporting events, tailgate parties, and much more.
